Mechanics of Blogging on the Road

Well it looks like I’m going to have to create my blog using iphone notes. I had planned to use a mobile keyboard with my iphone and the new Windows Live Office/MS Word. What I didn’t know before I read the fine print, was that, while Windows Live “supports” the iphone, the support here means “read” not write. $#@%&@#%. Oh well.

This isn’t ideal, but I don’t know what else to do. As much as I’d like to have an iPad, I’m not buying one to carry in my dirty backpack all over the country. Knowing me I’d drop it in the middle of Mahattan in front of a taxi. On the other hand, I could just create directly into Word Press’s mobile iphone app. In fact I will try it with this note. We’ll see.

PS Having posted this, I’m automatically absolved from any grammatical or spelling errors in my blog that M/S Word would have called my attention to…for the whole trip. This could be a real advantage. Ho Ho

John, I’d love to know what software you find, if you do, that would make using a mobile keyboard with the iPhone easy. It’s just more gear to carry around, but maybe it could solve the problem of typing on that tiny touch screen.

I’m loving Swype on my droid2. It isn’t an iPhone, lord knows, but it’s totally easy to “type” on the tiny touch screen. And, it works in the midwest.
